Patty Duke
Patty Duke was an American actress born on December 14, 1946, in Elmhurst, New York. She gained fame as a child star, winning an Academy Award for her role in the film The Miracle Worker (1962), where she portrayed Helen Keller. Duke was known for her versatility, appearing in both dramatic and comedic roles throughout her career.
In addition to her film work, Duke starred in the popular television series The Patty Duke Show (1963-1966), where she played identical cousins. She was also an advocate for mental health awareness, openly discussing her struggles with bipolar disorder. Duke passed away on March 29, 2016.
