Patrice de MacMahon
Patrice de MacMahon was a French military leader and politician who served as the President of France from 1873 to 1879. Born on July 13, 1808, he had a distinguished career in the army, notably during the Crimean War and the Franco-Prussian War. His leadership was marked by a commitment to conservative values and a desire to restore the monarchy in France.
MacMahon's presidency was characterized by political instability and challenges from various factions, including republicans and monarchists. He eventually resigned in 1879 after a conflict with the French Parliament, leading to the establishment of the Third Republic. MacMahon passed away on October 17, 1893.
