Patriarch of Romania
The Patriarch of Romania is the head of the Romanian Orthodox Church, which is one of the largest Orthodox Christian communities in the world. This position is responsible for overseeing the spiritual and administrative affairs of the church, guiding its members, and representing the church in national and international matters. The patriarch is elected by the Holy Synod, which is composed of bishops from various dioceses.
The current patriarch, Daniel, has held the position since 2007. Under his leadership, the church has focused on social issues, interfaith dialogue, and the promotion of Orthodox values. The patriarchate is based in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, where it plays a significant role in the country's religious and cultural life.
