Passion narrative
A "Passion narrative" refers to the accounts of the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ as described in the New Testament of the Bible. These narratives focus on the events leading up to the crucifixion, including the betrayal, trial, and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus for humanity's sins.
Typically found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the Passion narratives highlight themes of sacrifice, redemption, and the fulfillment of prophecy. They are central to Christian beliefs and are often read during the liturgical season of Lent and especially on Good Friday.
