Paris Peace Accords
The Paris Peace Accords were agreements signed in January 1973 aimed at ending the conflict in the Vietnam War. The accords involved the United States, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and the Viet Cong, establishing a ceasefire and outlining the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Vietnam.
The agreements also called for the reunification of Vietnam through peaceful means and included provisions for the exchange of prisoners of war. Despite the accords, fighting continued in Vietnam until the fall of Saigon in 1975, leading to the reunification of the country under communist control.
