Parafoils
A parafoil is a type of soft, flexible parachute that is designed to glide through the air. Unlike traditional parachutes, which have a round shape, parafoils have a rectangular design that allows for better control and maneuverability. They are often used in activities like paragliding and skydiving, as well as for kitesurfing and aerial photography.
Parafoils work by creating lift as air flows over and under their wings. This lift allows the user to steer and control their descent or flight path. Parafoils can be made from lightweight materials, making them easy to pack and transport, which is why they are popular among outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers.
