Parachute
A parachute is a device used to slow down the motion of a person or object falling through the atmosphere. It typically consists of a large fabric canopy that opens up when deployed, creating drag and allowing for a controlled descent. Parachutes are commonly used in activities like skydiving and military operations.
The basic design of a parachute includes a canopy, suspension lines, and a harness. When a skydiver jumps from an aircraft, they free-fall for a short time before pulling a cord to deploy the parachute. This action expands the canopy, which then slows their fall and allows for a safe landing on the ground.
