Parable of the Ten Virgins
The "Parable of the Ten Virgins" is a story told by Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible. It describes ten young women who are waiting for a bridegroom to arrive for a wedding. Five of them are wise and bring extra oil for their lamps, while the other five are foolish and do not. When the bridegroom arrives unexpectedly, the foolish virgins run out of oil and are unable to join the celebration.
The parable emphasizes the importance of being prepared and vigilant. It serves as a reminder that one should always be ready for unexpected events, particularly in the context of spiritual readiness and the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven.
