Paolo Borsellino
Paolo Borsellino was an Italian magistrate and a prominent anti-mafia figure. Born on January 19, 1940, in Palermo, he dedicated his career to fighting organized crime, particularly the Sicilian Mafia. Borsellino worked closely with fellow magistrate Giovanni Falcone, and together they made significant strides in prosecuting mafia members.
Tragically, Borsellino was assassinated on July 19, 1992, in a car bomb attack in Palermo, just months after Falcone's murder. His death highlighted the dangers faced by those combating the mafia and sparked public outrage, leading to increased efforts against organized crime in Italy.
