Palatine Bone
The Palatine Bone is a small, L-shaped bone located in the back of the oral cavity. It forms part of the hard palate, which is the roof of the mouth, and contributes to the structure of the nasal cavity and the floor of the eye socket. Each person has two palatine bones, one on each side of the skull.
These bones play a crucial role in separating the oral cavity from the nasal cavity, aiding in functions like speech and swallowing. They also provide support for the teeth and help form the boundaries of the nasal cavity and maxilla.
