Palace of Zakros
The Palace of Zakros is an ancient Minoan archaeological site located on the eastern coast of Crete, Greece. Dating back to around 1900 BC, it is one of the four major Minoan palaces, alongside Knossos, Phaistos, and Malia. The palace complex features a series of interconnected rooms, storage areas, and a central courtyard, showcasing advanced architectural design.
Excavations at the Palace of Zakros revealed numerous artifacts, including pottery, frescoes, and tools, which provide insight into Minoan culture and daily life. The site is also associated with the Zakros civilization, known for its trade connections and maritime activities in the Aegean Sea.
