Pacu
The Pacu is a freshwater fish native to the rivers of South America, particularly in the Amazon Basin. It is closely related to the piranha but is primarily herbivorous, feeding on fruits, seeds, and aquatic plants. Pacus are known for their distinctive, flat bodies and strong jaws, which are adapted for crushing hard foods.
Pacu can grow quite large, with some species reaching lengths of up to 3 feet (about 1 meter) and weighing over 50 pounds (approximately 23 kilograms). They are popular in the aquarium trade and are also sought after by anglers for sport fishing due to their size and fighting ability.
