Otto Of Greece
Otto of Greece was a Bavarian prince who became the first king of modern Greece after its independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1832. Born on June 1, 1815, he was chosen as king at a young age, largely due to the influence of the Great Powers of Europe. His reign aimed to stabilize the newly formed nation and establish a constitutional monarchy.
Otto's rule faced numerous challenges, including political unrest and economic difficulties. He struggled to gain the support of the Greek people, leading to his eventual deposition in 1862. Otto returned to Bavaria, where he lived until his death on July 26, 1867.
