Otariids
Otariids, commonly known as sea lions and fur seals, are a family of marine mammals characterized by their external ear flaps and long front flippers. They are found in coastal regions around the world and are known for their agility in the water, making them excellent swimmers. Otariids are social animals, often seen in large groups on beaches or rocky shores.
These mammals primarily feed on fish and squid, using their sensitive whiskers to detect prey. Otariids are also known for their vocalizations, which they use to communicate with one another. Their populations are affected by environmental changes and human activities, making conservation efforts important.
