Orinoco Crocodile
The Orinoco crocodile is a large reptile native to the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela and Colombia. It is one of the most endangered crocodile species, primarily due to habitat loss and hunting. Adults can grow up to 5 meters (16 feet) in length and are characterized by their dark olive-brown color and broad snouts.
This crocodile primarily feeds on fish, birds, and small mammals. Conservation efforts are underway to protect its habitat and increase its population. The Orinoco crocodile plays a crucial role in its ecosystem, helping to maintain the balance of aquatic life in its environment.
