Origin Systems
Origin Systems was a video game development company founded in 1983 by Richard Garriott, Robert Garriott, and Kurt Heiss. The company is best known for creating the popular Ultima series, which significantly influenced the role-playing game (RPG) genre. Origin Systems was known for its innovative storytelling and immersive gameplay.
In 1992, Origin Systems was acquired by Electronic Arts, which helped expand its reach in the gaming industry. The company continued to develop successful titles, including the Wing Commander series. However, by the early 2000s, it faced challenges and was eventually closed in 2004.
