Oriental languages
"Oriental languages" typically refer to a group of languages spoken in East Asia and parts of South Asia. This includes languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese. These languages often have unique writing systems, such as Chinese characters and hiragana, which differ significantly from the Latin alphabet used in many Western languages.
These languages are characterized by their distinct phonetics, grammar, and vocabulary. For example, Chinese is a tonal language, meaning that the pitch used when pronouncing a word can change its meaning. In contrast, Japanese has a complex system of honorifics that reflect social hierarchy and relationships.
