Organizational Units
Organizational Units (OUs) are subdivisions within a larger organization, such as a company or institution, that help manage and structure its operations. OUs can represent different departments, teams, or functions, allowing for better organization and clarity in roles and responsibilities. They facilitate efficient management by grouping related activities and resources.
In the context of computer networks, particularly in Active Directory, OUs are used to organize users, groups, and devices. This hierarchical structure simplifies administration, enabling IT administrators to apply policies and permissions to specific OUs, thereby enhancing security and management efficiency within the organization.
