Ordinal Data
Ordinal data is a type of categorical data where the values have a clear order or ranking. For example, in a survey asking participants to rate their satisfaction as very dissatisfied, dissatisfied, neutral, satisfied, or very satisfied, the responses can be arranged in a meaningful sequence. However, the differences between these categories are not uniform or measurable.
This data type is commonly used in various fields, such as education for grading systems (A, B, C, D, F) or in healthcare for pain scales. While ordinal data provides information about the relative position of items, it does not indicate the exact differences between them.
