Order of the Eastern Star
The Order of the Eastern Star is a Masonic appendant body that welcomes both men and women. It was established in the mid-19th century and is based on teachings from the Bible, particularly the stories of five heroines: Adah, Ruth, Esther, Martha, and Electa. Members participate in rituals and ceremonies that promote moral values and community service.
The organization emphasizes charity, truth, and loving kindness. Members often engage in various philanthropic activities, supporting local and national causes. The Order is structured with chapters, and each chapter is governed by elected officers, fostering leadership and teamwork among its members.
