Order of Saint Maurice
The Order of Saint Maurice is a chivalric order founded in 1430 by Duke Amadeus VIII of Savoy. It was established to honor Saint Maurice, a Christian martyr and patron saint of soldiers. The order was created to reward military service and promote the values of loyalty, bravery, and honor among its members.
Originally, the order was limited to nobles and military leaders, but over time, it expanded to include individuals from various backgrounds who demonstrated exceptional service. Today, the Order of Saint Maurice continues to exist, primarily as a ceremonial organization that recognizes contributions to society and the military.
