Order of National Artists
The "Order of National Artists" is a prestigious honor in the Philippines that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the country's cultural heritage. Established in 1972, it aims to promote and preserve the arts, including visual arts, music, dance, literature, and theater. Awardees are chosen based on their artistic excellence and impact on Filipino culture.
Recipients of the Order are given the title of "National Artist" and receive a medallion and a certificate. The award is conferred by the President of the Philippines, based on recommendations from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
