Orbital Rim
The orbital rim is the bony edge that forms the outer boundary of the eye socket, known as the orbit. It provides structural support and protection for the eye and surrounding tissues. The orbital rim consists of several bones, including the frontal, zygomatic, maxillary, and others, which come together to create a sturdy framework.
In addition to its protective role, the orbital rim serves as an attachment point for various muscles and ligaments that control eye movement and support the eyelids. Damage to the orbital rim can lead to complications such as fractures, which may affect vision and require medical intervention.
