Optical Art
Optical Art, often referred to as Op Art, is a visual art movement that emerged in the 1960s. It focuses on creating optical illusions through precise patterns, shapes, and colors. Artists use techniques such as repetition and contrast to manipulate viewers' perceptions, making static images appear to move or vibrate.
One of the most famous Op Art artists is Bridget Riley, known for her striking black-and-white compositions. Victor Vasarely is another key figure, often considered the father of Op Art. The movement challenges the way we see and interpret visual information, engaging the viewer's eye and mind in unique ways.
