Operational Detachment Alphas
Operational Detachment Alphas (ODAs) are specialized units within the U.S. Army Special Forces. They are designed to conduct a variety of missions, including unconventional warfare, counter-terrorism, and foreign internal defense. Each ODA typically consists of 12 soldiers, each with specific skills, such as medical, engineering, and communications expertise.
These teams are often deployed in small groups to work closely with local forces and communities. Their primary goal is to train and assist these groups in achieving stability and security in their regions. ODAs play a crucial role in U.S. military operations around the world, adapting to diverse environments and challenges.
