Operation Paperclip
"Operation Paperclip" was a secret program initiated by the United States after World War II. Its main goal was to recruit German scientists, engineers, and technicians, many of whom had worked for the Nazi regime, to help advance American military and technological capabilities during the Cold War. The operation aimed to prevent these experts from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union.
Under this program, over 1,600 individuals were brought to the U.S., including notable figures like Wernher von Braun, who played a key role in developing the American space program. While the operation contributed to significant advancements, it also raised ethical concerns regarding the backgrounds of the recruited individuals.
