Operation Bodyguard
Operation Bodyguard was a strategic deception plan used by the Allies during World War II, primarily aimed at misleading the German military about the location and timing of the D-Day invasion. The operation involved creating a false narrative that suggested the Allies would invade at Pas de Calais instead of Normandy, using fake radio transmissions, dummy equipment, and even a fictitious army.
To support this deception, the Allies employed various tactics, including the use of double agents and misleading intelligence reports. This elaborate ruse successfully diverted German forces, contributing to the success of the actual invasion on June 6, 1944.
