Ontario Provincial Police
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is the provincial police service for the province of Ontario, Canada. Established in 1909, it provides law enforcement services to rural areas, small towns, and some larger municipalities that do not have their own police forces. The OPP is responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and preventing crime across the province.
The OPP operates under the Ministry of the Solicitor General and works closely with other law enforcement agencies. It has a diverse range of specialized units, including traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, and emergency response teams, to address various public safety needs.
