One-Time Password
A One-Time Password (OTP) is a unique code generated for a single use, typically for authentication purposes. It enhances security by ensuring that even if someone intercepts the password, it cannot be reused. OTPs are commonly sent via SMS, email, or generated by authentication apps.
When logging into an account, users may be prompted to enter an OTP after providing their regular password. This two-factor authentication method, which involves something you know (your password) and something you have (the OTP), helps protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.
