Omar Al-Bashir is a Sudanese politician who served as the President of Sudan from 1989 until 2019. He came to power through a military coup and was known for his authoritarian rule. His government faced numerous accusations of human rights violations, particularly during the Darfur conflict, which began in the early 2000s.
