Oklahoma Government
The Oklahoma Government operates under a state constitution, which was adopted in 1907. It consists of three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial. The executive branch is led by the Governor, who is elected for a four-year term. The legislative branch includes a bicameral Oklahoma Legislature, composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The judicial branch interprets laws and is made up of various courts, including the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The state government is responsible for various services, such as education, transportation, and public safety. Local governments, including counties and cities, also play a significant role in governance.
