Odu Ifa
Odu Ifa is a central concept in the Yoruba religion, representing the sacred texts and wisdom of the Ifa divination system. It consists of 256 unique verses, known as Odu, which provide guidance and insight into various aspects of life. Each Odu contains proverbs, stories, and teachings that are used by Babalawos (Ifa priests) during divination ceremonies.
The Ifa divination process involves casting cowrie shells or other objects to reveal the appropriate Odu for a specific question or situation. This practice is deeply rooted in Yoruba culture and spirituality, serving as a means of connecting with the divine and understanding one's destiny.
