Octane Rating
Octane rating measures a fuel's ability to resist knocking or pinging during combustion in an engine. Higher octane ratings indicate greater resistance to premature fuel ignition, which can lead to engine damage and reduced performance. Common octane ratings include Regular, Mid-Grade, and Premium, typically ranging from 87 to 93 in the United States.
Using fuel with the appropriate octane rating for your vehicle, as specified by the manufacturer, helps ensure optimal engine performance and efficiency. While higher octane fuels can benefit high-performance engines, using them in standard engines usually does not provide any significant advantages.
