Oceanic Manta Ray
The Oceanic Manta Ray is a large species of ray found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world. They can grow up to 23 feet (7 meters) in wingspan and are known for their distinctive triangular shape and large, flat bodies. These rays are filter feeders, primarily consuming plankton and small fish by swimming with their mouths open.
Unlike other rays, Oceanic Manta Rays are known for their acrobatic behavior, often leaping out of the water. They are social creatures, frequently seen in groups, and are known to migrate long distances. Conservation efforts are important for their protection due to threats from fishing and habitat loss.
