Numbfish Species
The Numbfish species, also known as numbfish or numb ray, belong to the family Narcinidae. These cartilaginous fish are primarily found in warm, shallow waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. They are characterized by their flattened bodies and rounded pectoral fins, which give them a disc-like appearance.
Numbfish are known for their unique ability to produce electric shocks, which they use for defense and to stun prey. They primarily feed on small fish and invertebrates found on the ocean floor. Their habitat includes sandy or muddy substrates, where they can easily camouflage themselves.
