Noun Agreement
Noun agreement refers to the grammatical rule that ensures nouns and their modifiers, such as adjectives and verbs, match in number and sometimes gender. For example, in English, a singular noun like cat requires a singular verb, as in "The cat runs." Conversely, a plural noun like cats needs a plural verb, as in "The cats run."
In languages with gendered nouns, such as Spanish or French, noun agreement also involves matching gender. For instance, in Spanish, the feminine noun mesa (table) would use the feminine adjective, resulting in "la mesa blanca" (the white table). This consistency helps maintain clarity in communication.
