Note Values
Note values represent the duration of musical notes in a piece of music. Each note has a specific value that indicates how long it should be held relative to other notes. Common note values include whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and eighth notes, with whole notes being the longest and eighth notes being shorter.
In addition to these basic note values, there are also rests, which indicate silence for a specific duration. Just like notes, rests have corresponding values, such as whole rests and quarter rests. Understanding note values is essential for reading and performing music accurately.
