Northern Zaza
Northern Zaza is a language spoken primarily in eastern Turkey, particularly in the regions of Tunceli, Elazığ, and Bingöl. It belongs to the Zaza language group, which is part of the larger Iranian languages family. Northern Zaza is distinct from Southern Zaza, with notable differences in vocabulary and pronunciation.
The speakers of Northern Zaza are predominantly from the Zaza ethnic group, which has a rich cultural heritage. The language is used in daily communication, but it faces challenges due to the dominance of Turkish in education and media. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote Northern Zaza through cultural initiatives and language education.
