North American T-2 Buckeye
The North American T-2 Buckeye is a twin-engine jet trainer aircraft developed in the 1950s. It was primarily used by the United States Navy for training pilots in carrier operations. The T-2 Buckeye features a high-mounted wing and a tandem seating arrangement, allowing instructors and students to sit one behind the other.
First flown in 1958, the T-2 Buckeye became a key component of naval aviation training programs. It was designed to simulate the performance of larger carrier-based aircraft, helping pilots transition to more advanced jets. The aircraft remained in service until the late 1990s, when it was replaced by newer training systems.
