Ninoy Aquino
Ninoy Aquino was a prominent Filipino politician and a key figure in the struggle against the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Born on November 27, 1932, he served as a senator and was known for his strong advocacy for democracy and human rights. His opposition to the Marcos regime led to his exile in the United States in 1972.
In 1983, Aquino returned to the Philippines, where he was assassinated at the airport, an event that sparked widespread outrage. His death became a catalyst for the People Power Revolution in 1986, which ultimately led to the ousting of Marcos and the restoration of democracy in the country.
