Nid de guêpes
"Nid de guêpes" is the French term for a wasp nest, which is typically constructed by female wasps using chewed wood fibers mixed with saliva. These nests can be found in various locations, such as trees, eaves, or underground, and are often round or oval in shape. The nests serve as a home for the wasp colony, providing shelter and a place for the queen to lay her eggs.
Inside the nest, wasps create hexagonal cells where the larvae develop. The colony can grow significantly during the warmer months, with some nests housing thousands of wasps. While wasps play a role in pollination and pest control, they can become aggressive if their nest is disturbed, making caution important when encountering a nid de guêpes.
