Nicholas Flamel
Nicholas Flamel was a French scribe and manuscript-seller born around 1330. He is best known for his association with alchemy and the legendary Philosopher's Stone, which is said to grant immortality and turn base metals into gold. Flamel's name became famous in various works of fiction, particularly in the Harry Potter series, where he is depicted as a historical figure who achieved immortality.
Despite his legendary status, there is little historical evidence to support the claims of his alchemical achievements. Flamel's actual life involved working in Paris and he was known for his charitable contributions, particularly in funding the construction of churches and other public works.
