Ngo Bao Chau
Ngo Bao Chau is a Vietnamese mathematician known for his significant contributions to the field of mathematics, particularly in the area of number theory and algebraic geometry. He gained international recognition for proving the Fundamental Lemma, a key result in the Langlands program, which connects number theory and representation theory.
Born on July 28, 1972, in Hanoi, Vietnam, Ngo Bao Chau pursued his education in mathematics at Paris-Sud University and later became a professor at University of Chicago. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Fields Medal, often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Mathematics, for his groundbreaking work.
