New York State Board of Regents
The New York State Board of Regents is a governing body responsible for overseeing education in New York State. Established in 1784, it sets educational policies, regulates schools, and manages the licensing of various professions. The Board consists of 17 members, each appointed to serve five-year terms. They meet regularly to discuss and implement policies that affect K-12 education, higher education, and vocational training.
