Neuromas
A neuroma is a benign growth of nerve tissue that can develop in various parts of the body, often resulting from nerve injury or irritation. The most common type is a Morton's neuroma, which occurs between the toes, typically causing pain and discomfort in the foot. Neuromas can also form in other areas, such as the spinal cord or peripheral nerves.
Symptoms of a neuroma may include pain, tingling, or numbness in the affected area. Diagnosis usually involves a physical examination and imaging tests like MRI or ultrasound. Treatment options range from conservative measures, such as rest and orthotics, to surgical removal in more severe cases.
