Network Router
A network router is a device that connects multiple computer networks and directs data traffic between them. It acts as a traffic manager, ensuring that data packets are sent to the correct destination. Routers can connect to various types of networks, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), and they often provide features like firewall protection and network address translation (NAT).
In home networks, a router typically connects to the internet through a modem and allows multiple devices, such as computers, smartphones, and smart TVs, to access the internet simultaneously. Many modern routers also support wireless connections, enabling devices to connect without physical cables, enhancing convenience and flexibility in network usage.
