Needles Lighthouse
Needles Lighthouse is a prominent lighthouse located on the western tip of the Isle of Wight in England. Built in 1859, it stands 33 meters tall and is known for its striking white color, which helps it stand out against the rocky coastline. The lighthouse is situated near a group of chalk stacks called the Needles, which are famous for their unique shape and geological significance.
The lighthouse operates with a powerful light that can be seen from a distance of up to 26 nautical miles. It was designed to guide ships safely through the treacherous waters of the Solent, the strait separating the Isle of Wight from the mainland. Today, it remains an important navigational aid and a popular tourist attraction.
