Need Theory
Need Theory, developed by Abraham Maslow, posits that human motivation is driven by a hierarchy of needs. These needs are typically categorized into five levels: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. According to this theory, individuals must satisfy lower-level needs before they can address higher-level needs.
The theory suggests that as people fulfill their basic needs, they become motivated to pursue more complex desires, such as personal growth and self-fulfillment. This framework helps to understand human behavior in various contexts, including psychology, education, and workplace dynamics.
