Navigation Lights
Navigation lights are essential lighting systems used on boats and ships to indicate their position and direction to other vessels. These lights help prevent collisions, especially during nighttime or low visibility conditions. Typically, navigation lights include a red light on the port side, a green light on the starboard side, and a white light at the stern.
The use of navigation lights is governed by international regulations, known as the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs). These rules specify the colors, visibility ranges, and placement of the lights to ensure safe navigation on the water.
