National Union of Teachers
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) is a professional association and trade union in the United Kingdom that represents teachers and education professionals. Founded in 1870, it advocates for the rights and interests of its members, focusing on issues such as pay, working conditions, and educational policies. The NUT aims to improve the quality of education and support teachers in their roles.
In 2017, the NUT merged with the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) to form the National Education Union (NEU). This merger strengthened the union's voice in advocating for educational reforms and better working conditions. The NEU continues to promote the welfare of teachers and the importance of quality education for all students.
